Ultimate Network Challenge Awards
In search of the Ultimate Network, Brocade and Network Computing have issued a call for entries in the Ultimate Network Challenge Awards. Tell us how you scaled new heights to build the Ultimate Network, deliver business value, and save money for your organization.

If we select your entry, you’ll gain industry recognition and some other great rewards. The awards recognize outstanding achievements across three solution areas: high-performance IP networks, next-generation storage, and advanced convergence applications.

Meet the Judges
Art Wittmann, Vice President, InformationWeek Analytics
Art is the founder and head of InformationWeek Analytics, where he oversees both the business and content sides of InformationWeek's analyst business. Art has over seventeen years of experience in high-tech publishing, during which time he has been editor-in-chief of Network Magazine, IT Architect and Networking Computing. He currently writes the Practical Analysis column for InformationWeek and is a frequent and much requested speaker at industry forums. Prior to his work in IT journalism, Art was associate director of the Computer Aided Engineering Center at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Mike Fratto, Editor, Network Computing
Mike is Editor of Network Computing. He has been with TechWeb for over 11 years and has extensive experience evaluating enterprise remote access, security, and network infrastructure products. He previously was Lead Analyst with InformationWeek Analytics, Senior Technology Editor with Network Computing and Executive Editor for Secure Enterprise. He has spoken at several conferences including NetWorld+Interop, MISTI, the Internet Security Conference, as well as to local groups. He also teaches a network security graduate course at Syracuse University. Prior to Network Computing, Mike was an independent consultant.

Elliot Kass, VP Content Services, TechWeb
Elliot Kass has been a leading force in high-tech journalism and marketing for more than twenty years. In the 1980’s, he was a founding editor of InformationWeek and served as the publication’s first chief of correspondents. In the early 1990’s, as Editor of Communications Week and later Internet Week, Elliot helped usher in the online era, winning numerous awards for the publications’ coverage of networking technologies and e-Business.

At IBM, in the late 1990s, Elliot served as Director of Publications and led a wide range of e-Business and Web-based marketing initiatives for the company’s 90,000 channel partners. From 2000 to 2003, he was Director of Marketing at Computer Associates, where he popularized the concepts of service management, utility computing and aligning IT with the business.

As TechWeb’s Vice President for content services, Elliot is responsible for TechWeb’s client-driven content development. He works with hundreds of clients across the high-tech spectrum to craft messages and deliver information for diverse audiences of technology and business professionals.

A frequent public speaker on technology-related topics, in 1998, Elliot organized the first educational seminar on the Internet for the U.S. Congress. He has also spoken at the UN on the Internet’s economic potential and appears on numerous industry panels. His articles have been published by leading industry analysts, such as the Gartner Group, and have appeared in numerous publications including Network Computing, Optimize and The Washington Post.
